By codifying the iconic \u003ca title=\"Juneteenth Flag\" href=\"https:\/\/flagsforgood.com\/products\/juneteenth-flag\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eJuneteenth flag\u003c\/a\u003e design by Ben Haith directly into the city's official flag family, the city ensured the banner could legally fly outside City Hall alongside the traditional \u003ca title=\"Salt Lake City Flag\" href=\"https:\/\/flagsforgood.com\/products\/salt-lake-city-flag\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eSalt Lake City flag\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design blends local identity with a global symbol of freedom. In the upper hoist corner sits the white and gold sego lily, the official emblem of Salt Lake City that represents beauty and resilience. The background features the classic Juneteenth layout: a horizontal arch dividing blue and red fields to symbolize a new horizon of opportunity. At its center is a white five-pointed star surrounded by a 12-ray nova, representing a new beginning and freedom across all 50 states.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDays of Celebration:\u003c\/strong\u003e The flag serves as a major centerpiece during Juneteenth National Independence Day on June 19, celebrating liberation and Black excellence around SLC. It is also prominently raised during local \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/flagsforgood.com\/collections\/black-heritage-history-flags\" title=\"Black History Flags\"\u003eBlack History Month\u003c\/a\u003e events and civic milestones to show solidarity with the city's Black and African American residents.
