By codifying \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/flagsforgood.com\/collections\/progress-pride-flag\" title=\"Progress Pride Flag\"\u003eDaniel Quasar’s iconic 2018 Progress Pride\u003c\/a\u003e design directly into the city's official flag family, the city ensured the banner could legally fly outside City Hall and across public parks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design seamlessly blends local identity with global LGBTQIA+ solidarity. In the upper hoist corner sits the white and gold sego lily, the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/flagsforgood.com\/products\/salt-lake-city-flag\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Salt Lake City Flag\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003eofficial emblem of Salt Lake City\u003c\/a\u003e that represents beauty and resilience in harsh conditions. The background features Quasar's layout: a traditional six-stripe rainbow overlaid with a hoist-side chevron of black, brown, light blue, pink, and white. These arrow stripes explicitly represent marginalized queer communities, trans individuals, and people of color advancing forward.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDays of Celebration:\u003c\/strong\u003e The flag serves as the ultimate centerpiece during Pride Month throughout June and the annual Utah Pride Festival. It is also prominently raised during local human rights observances and municipal milestones to show solidarity with the queer community around SLC.
