Indianapolis 3D City Map Framed Shadowbox
A 3D downtown Indianapolis city model
This 3D model of the Mile Square and the blocks around it (covering about 1.6 miles across) comes framed in a premium 12in x 12in black shadowbox. Building heights are true to life (thanks to your tax dollars paying for USGS laser scans), with the White River and Canal cut clean through to a light blue backing, and the major Indy landmarks are modeled by hand (finally putting my college degree to use).
The Indianapolis flag is basically a map of downtown...and in our shop, we have a big 3D model like this showing how the flag overlays on the street grid and people kept asking to buy it. We heard you, and now you can!
Designed by Roger Gohl as a Herron art student in 1962 for a class project, the white cross is Meridian and Market Streets, the circle is Monument Circle, and the star is the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. Gohl's flag of Indianapolis was ranked 8th out of 150 U.S. city flags in the North American Vexillological Association's survey in 2004. This model celebrates how our flag mirrors our city grid in a hangable or coffee-table-able way!
What's in it:
- Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument and Monument Circle
- Indiana Statehouse, with its cute little dome
- Indiana World War Memorial and the American Legion Mall
- All major skyline towers: Salesforce Tower, OneAmerica Tower, BMO Plaza, 360 Market Square, JW Marriott and even the newest addition to our skyline, the Signia Tower
- Stadiums: Lucas Oil Stadium, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and Victory Field
- The White River, viaducts, bridges, and even trees in major parks
Built to be in the center of the action. The whole city model sits down inside the premium shadowbox, which means no need for careful dusting and your cat won't brush past it and snap off your favorite building. The latched door to the frame allows you to open it to enjoy the model whenever you want to get a closer look.
Who it's for: The Hoosier who moved away and is missing home, the first-time homeowner looking for local decor, the Butler grad leaving town, or the lucky person with a cool office downtown. It can hang on a wall or sit on a coffee table, and it looks perfect in a living room as well as a corner office.
Made with love in the city we love. Printed and framed to order (so give us a bit more time) by Flags For Good in downtown Indy.
